DEAP and NEAP Part L 2019 NZEB Compliance Report

Building Control now insist that DEAP and NEAP calculations are carried out before construction work begins, to ensure the building design is compliant with Part L of the Building Regulations.

The Energy Performance Coefficient (EPC) and Carbon Performance Coefficient (CPC) which is calculated using DEAP /  NEAP, must not exceed their maximum permitted values.

A Final BER and NBER is published with the reports, to provide proof of Part L compliance when the building is complete.

A BER Assessor must publish the BER certificates in an independent manner in accordance to the SEAI Code of Practice.

The calculation will take account of construction type, levels of insulation, ventilation, airtightness, fuel types, heating and cooling systems, controls, lighting, distribution losses, renewable energy contribution etc.
